Hi everyone,

I'm currently color grading some Blackmagic Pocket 6K footage shot in Color Generation 5. I typically use the Color Space Transform to convert clips to Rec.709 or Cineon gamma for film print LUTs. However, this is my first time working with Gen 5 footage.

Could anyone share their preferred settings for the Input Color Space and Gamma in the Color Space Transform for Blackmagic Pocket 6K Gen 5 footage?

Thanks in advance!

When I’m working with Blackmagic Pocket Gen5 footage in DaVinci Resolve, I pay special attention to the color space transform settings to ensure the best possible quality. Here’s how I approach it:

  • Input Color Space: I set this to Blackmagic Design Wide Gamut Gen 4/5, which matches the color space of my camera.
  • Input Gamma: To match the gamma of my source footage, I select Blackmagic Design Film.
  • Output Color Space: Since I’m usually delivering content for standard displays, I transform my footage to Rec. 709.
  • Output Gamma: Similarly, I set this to Rec. 709 to ensure consistency with the output color space.

These settings are my starting point, but I always keep in mind that each project might require adjustments.
